CAS(e) this sketch #187

Hi there!

I am here to share this week's CAS(e) this sketch inspiration!

My take on Chrissy's sketch which has so many possibilities:

A closer look:

I designed my card in the Silhouette studio, cutting the tiny images from black paper, adhering it to colorful circles.
Always amazed by the way the cameo is able to cut detailed shapes like this!

The theme of my card was inspired by the following 2 challenges:

Less is more  ~ something exotic

&

Addicted to CAS ~ Silhouette

Thanks for visiting me today!

Hope to see you play along with our sketch this week ☺

CASology : FUN

Hi there!

FUN is the cue card at CASology this week!

I was inspired by the word(s) FUN-filled ... here's how it turned out:

fun filled card

A closer look:

I read a post about graphic design the other day. It said that if you had to explain your design, it wasn't successful... but I am going to explain anyway! Although it's a shaker card I didn't really aim for it to shake... making sense ? I wanted to FILL the word FUN to give meaning to it! So I used tiny silver seed beads to do just that :)

I had to layer the top panel (4 layers) to create space for the beads. Contained them with a layer of acetate beneath the top layer.

I created the glittery striped background with washi tape by 3M. LOVE the sparkle ! I also die cut the balloon from a piece of BG paper that was left over.

I saved the sentiment I created in the Silhouette studio for you to use:

The Paper Players #309 : Sweet & CAS

Hi there!

Time for Sandy's sweet & CAS challenge at The paper players

I went for something sweet... but healthy too :)

Two examples for you today, showing one with softer blended colors...

be like a pineapple card

be like a pineapple card

... and one with solid color blocks:

be like a pineapple card

be like a pineapple card

I wanted to incorporate the design elements captured in a pineapple without actually using a pineapple image.

I did that by welding a scalloped oval shape to a diagonal grid background in the Silhouette studio.

I added color to the background for the first card with distress inks by Hero Arts ( green hills, butter bar and a small amount of orange soda) and solid green and yellow card stock for the second card.

I created my own sentiment form a known quote found on Pinterest.

... and yes, you are welcome to download and use it  ☺

&

Uniko studio ~ Inspired by a song title.

I can think of 2 songs. One is Sweet Caroline by my all time favorite Neil Diamond & who can remember this one : Agadoo doo doo push pineapple shake the tree ! You can listen here !

CAS(e) this sketch #186

Hi there!

Time for a new sketch at CAS(e) this sketch !

N@Ali's turn to bring on the inspiration , here's my take :

polka dots and stripes butterflies

Yet another card designed in the Silhouette studio, and cut with my cameo ;)

I know IRL butterflies' wings are mirror images... but I decided to use my artistic licence , and played around with polka dots, stripes , positive and negative cuts! Why not? I love the fun graphic look !

The butterfly is a design by Hero arts in the Silhouette store ( Design ID #8265 ).

The sentiment is my own, and as always I share it :

Fonts used : Claphappy light & Fineliner Script.

CASology : DREAM

Hi there!

After all the dizziness last week's cue card caused , I am sure you are ready for this week's challenge at CASology... DREAM !

Let's see what you will dream up this week!

A closer look:

My card uses a  scrap of  watercolored paper that was lying on my desk after THIS card I made last week.

I added a strip of glittered paper to give the butterfly a place to rest on.

Vellum butterfly cut 3 times with my Silhouette (resized every time) .

Outline sentiment written with my Silhouette cameo and sketch pen.

Three rhinestones to finish off the design.

We are sponsored by Stamplorations this week.

The Paper Players #308

Hi there!

Welcome to my Paper Players post this week!

When I saw the colors Claire picked for this week's color challenge, I couldn't help to think of THIS CARD I made not too long ago !

abstract art birthday card

The graphic abstract panel is from Hero Arts in the Silhouette online store ( Design ID #11169 ).

I cut the frame in black, and used the die-cut inlay technique to add the red, blue and yellow.

The sentiment is computer generated using the font Fashion Victim .

I used the sketch by Kim at Freshly made sketches for the layout... great sketch!

So which direction will you go? I can't wait to see!

Thanks for visiting me today ☺

Have a great week,

Hannelie

CAS(e) this sketch #185

My take on the sketch:

happy birthday card

A closer look:

happy birthday card

The doggy with balloon is a design from the Silhouette store (Design ID #76115)
{Note: I used a regular balloon instead of the heart shaped balloon}

I used the 'ribbon' from the balloon to crop the polka dot panel on the right hand side .

I am adding my link to the following challenges:

Happy little stampers  ~ Anything goes with dies

Simon says stamp Wednesday challenge ~ let's go wild

Seize the birthday ~ Anything goes
